GENERAL DESCRIPTION

 

Model RC-700 Ultraviolet/Visible Curing System is a modular light source designed to provide a broad spectrum of high peak intensity UV, ranging from 200 to 1000 nanometers wavelength. The RC-700 provides many significant benefits for demanding curing applications, such as a small light weight lamp housing, unique serpentine Pulse UV Lamp and system modularity for ease of integration and process control. The complete system consists of a controller, lamp housing assembly with Pulse UV Lamp, auxiliary unit and cooling air blower kit.

 

Pulse UV Lamp

 

The RC-700 clear fused quartz Pulse UV Lamp has been designed to provide high intensity, UV/Visible light in a small optical area of 3" x 1". The unique serpentine lamp design has a 10" arc length to maximize UV output for rapid cures.

 

 

 

Lamp Housing

 

The compact size of the Lamp Housing is ideal for applications where the UV source must be mounted either on a moving surface (X-Y table) or in applications where the curing area requires a small focused optical footprint: 3" x 1". 6-foot cabling connects the Lamp Housing to the Auxiliary Unit. For operator safety, an interlock will prohibit firing of the Pulse UV Lamp if the Lamp Housing cover is removed.

 

Controller

 

The controller is the main unit providing 600 watts of power to the Lamp Housing, as well as operator front panel controls. Curing time may be set using either a TIMED MODE (user adjustable programmable timer, 0.1 to 99 sec) or in a CONTINUOUS MODE (120 pulses/sec). Additional flexibility is provided with a remote front panel I/O interface such as an external footswitch or programmable logic controller (PLC). Mains line voltage is switch selectable for 120/220 Vrms.

 

Blower Kit

 

The Lamp Housing has been designed for continuous forced air cooling to insure Pulse UV Lamp temperature is maintained during operation. The external Blower Kit provides the require air cooling and consists of a blower, flexible air ducting, clamps and a mains power cord.

Safety and Environmental Benefits of Pulsed UV/Visible Systems

Like all of Xenon Corporation’s curing systems, Model RC-700 is mercury free. The pulsed UV process is environmentally benign since it does not create or use volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or create suspended airborne particulates.
